the house was fantastic. the grounds were among the best i experienced at any of my stays. the dinner was very good too. i also appreciated the comfortable bed in my room.
i found that the menu was quite limited and repetitive. if you are staying for several nights, it could become a bit boring.

The grounds were immaculate. the room, a superior room, was well-appointed with a coffee maker and a selection of coffees. It really added to the experience. breakfast at the eolas restaurant was a highlight. The scottish breakfast buffet had a great selection of food.
The main issue was the plumbing in the shower. It didn't drain properly and caused a small flood. i was surprised that vegetables and potatoes were charged as extra sides at dinner. It added up quickly. some drinks were mistakenly added to my bill. It required a phone call and email to rectify.

shower drainlow profile
the main drain in the wet room backed up during my shower. it flooded the floor area, and i had to call for assistance. while someone came quickly and stopped the flooding, i found this unacceptable. the management team did not offer an apology or even a complimentary coffee (a small gesture would have been nice).
